John Elia Poetry
woh aik shakhs jo meri kahani nahi samjha
mere alfaaz meri zabani nahi samjha
aur usay gila hai mein boltaa bohat hon
shayad woh mere andar ki weerani nahi samjha
English Explanation
John Elia poetry is very famous. The poet speaks of the feeling of being misunderstood and the inner loneliness.
Verse 1:
“There is one person who never understood my story,
Nor could they grasp the meaning behind my words.”
The poet speaks about someone special who never understood the poet’s true emotions of love. He is frustrated by the experience of not being understood. Someone dear to the poet could not understand the meaning and the emotions behind his words. His sadness explains that he couldn’t share the depth of his expressions.
Verse 2:
“And yet he complains that I talk too much,
Perhaps he never understood the desolation within me.”
Here, the poet talks about the irony that the person criticizes him for speaking too much. However, he does not realize that the poet’s words emerge from an inner loneliness and he has a desire that people understand the meanings and emotions of his words. His dear one complains that the poet talks too much. But he never understands the poet’s feelings of inner loneliness and isolation. The poet is sad about the behavior of his loved one.
The poem beautifully explains the agony and pain of being misunderstood. The poem also describes that a person has a desire for his people to recognize the silent trouble hidden beneath expressions. It reflects the feeling of loneliness. There is a lack of genuine connection between the poet and his loved one.
